Quran is all the wisdom you’ll ever need

Excellent — that’s another of Rafakut Ali’s consistent positions:

that the Qur’an alone contains complete, timeless wisdom, while hadith literature, though historically significant, is not a divine source of guidance.Below is a new essay draft in his distinctive style — eloquent, Qur’an-centred, and critical of inherited tradition — titled:—

The Qur’an Teaches More Wisdom Than Hadiths By Rafakut Ali

Subtitle: The Divine Source of Guidance and the Limits of Human Narration

Introduction

The modern Muslim world is divided between two authorities: the Qur’an which is the speech of God, and the hadiths, the recorded sayings and actions attributed to the Prophet Muhammad posthumously 200-300 years after his death.

While the Qur’an calls itself “a complete, detailed, and perfected Book” (Hud 11:1; Al-An‘am 6:114–115), generations of believers have elevated hadith collections to near-divine status — often interpreting the Qur’an through them rather than by them.

Rafakut Ali challenges this reversal. He insists that the Qur’an alone is guidance — perfect, self-explanatory, and sufficient. Hadiths may serve as historical context, but they do not define faith.

The Qur’an is wisdom (hikmah); hadiths are human recollections.

One is infallible truth; the other, fallible transmission.

1. The Qur’an Declares Itself Complete

The Qur’an repeatedly affirms its own sufficiency:

“Shall I seek other than God as judge, when it is God who has sent down to you the Book, fully detailed?” (Al-An‘am 6:114)

“The Word of your Lord is perfected in truth and justice. None can change
God’s words.” QURAN 6:115

Rafakut Ali explains that fully detailed means self-contained. If God declares the Qur’an complete, then to claim that it requires hadith to explain it is to imply divine incompleteness — a theological contradiction.

He writes:> “The Qur’an does not require commentary from men; it requires comprehension by mind and conscience.”

Thus, wisdom does not lie in chains of narration but in reflection upon revelation.

2. The Nature of Wisdom (Hikmah)

Muslims often pair “Qur’an and Sunnah” as twin authorities, but the Qur’an itself never does. When it speaks of hikmah (wisdom), it attributes it to the Book and the Prophet’s teaching of the Book — not to separate oral traditions.>

“He teaches them the Book and the Wisdom.” (Al-Jumu‘ah 62:2)

Rafakut Ali notes that hikmah is not “hadith literature” but divine insight derived from the Book itself. The Prophet’s mission was to transmit and demonstrate the Qur’an — not to add to it. The wisdom the Prophet taught was from the Qur’an, not from independent sayings. His “Sunnah” was the living embodiment of revelation, not a separate legal corpus.—

3. The Qur’an Warns Against Other Sources of Law

The Qur’an directly warns believers not to follow competing sources of guidance:

“In what discourse after this will they believe?” (Al-A‘raf 7:185)

“These are God’s verses which We recite to you in truth. Then in what statement (hadith) after God and His verses will they believe?” (Al-Jathiyah 45:6)

The Arabic term hadith appears here — and the Qur’an warns against following any hadith other than God’s.

Rafakut Ali points out the irony: centuries later, Muslims would call extra-Qur’anic narrations hadith and elevate them as law. He argues that the Qur’an foresaw this tendency — the human urge to replace revelation with tradition. Thus, the Qur’an’s warning is prophetic: no discourse outside God’s Word holds divine authority.

4. The Prophet’s Sole Duty: To Convey the Qur’an

The Qur’an limits the Prophet’s authority strictly to delivering revelation:> “The Messenger’s duty is only to convey (the message).” (Al-Ma’idah 5:99)“This Qur’an has been revealed to me that I may warn you thereby.” (Al-An‘am 6:19)Rafakut Ali interprets these verses as divine clarification: the Prophet’s legacy is the Qur’an, not volumes of oral narration compiled two centuries later.

He writes:> “The Prophet was a messenger of the Message — not the author of a second scripture.” Thus, while love for the Prophet is an act of faith, obedience is owed to the revelation he brought, not to words attributed to him by later generations.—

5. Hadiths: Historical Memory, Not Divine Law

Rafakut Ali does not dismiss hadiths entirely. He acknowledges their historical value as cultural records of the early Muslim community. Yet he warns against confusing historical memory with divine decree. The Qur’an alone claims perfection and preservation:> “Indeed, We have sent down the Reminder, and indeed We will guard it.” (Al-Hijr 15:9)No such divine protection is promised for hadiths — which were collected, classified, and sometimes contradicted by human hands. Even the most authentic collections admit the possibility of error. Thus, while hadiths may offer insight, they cannot define faith. To raise them to the level of revelation is to dilute divine wisdom with human speculation.—

6. The Qur’an as the Source of Ultimate Wisdom

The Qur’an calls itself al-hakim — “full of wisdom”:> “By the wise Qur’an.” (Ya-Sin 36:2)“These are the verses of the Book of wisdom.” (Luqman 31:2)Rafakut Ali emphasizes that every principle of moral conduct, law, and salvation is contained within this Book. To seek wisdom elsewhere is to look for the sun while standing in daylight. He writes:> “The hadiths may illustrate, but only the Qur’an illuminates. The Prophet guided through what was revealed — and revelation ended with him.”Therefore, the Qur’an is the only enduring teacher, and taqwa is its interpreter.—

7. Faith, Reform, and the Return to Qur’anic Primacy

Rafakut Ali’s reformist message is simple yet radical: Islam must return to its Qur’anic foundations. Faith must be liberated from centuries of dogma that replaced divine revelation with man-made narration.

He writes:> “The Qur’an was sent to guide minds — not to bind them to the words of men. True Islam begins when the believer reads God’s Book directly, with reason and reverence.”

This return to the Qur’an is not rejection of tradition, but purification of faith. It is an awakening — a call to rely on what God revealed, not what history repeated.-

Conclusion

The Qur’an alone is the living, uncorrupted Word of God — a guide, a criterion, and a source of inexhaustible wisdom. Hadiths, while historically valuable, cannot match its divine clarity or authority.

Rafakut Ali reminds:> “Guidance was complete when the Qur’an was revealed. To seek more is to admit we have not yet read enough.”

The believer who turns directly to the Qur’an finds both law and light.

All wisdom begins and ends there.
